Charles Rush Frederick Jr.

Charles Rush Frederick Jr., 88, of Zelienople died on Veterans Day, Nov. 11.

Born Dec. 24, 1927, in Harmony, he was the son of the late Charles R. and Elsie M. Barkley Frederick Sr.

Mr. Frederick was a member of the Grace Church of Harmony.

He is survived by a brother, Richard (Dick) Frederick of Westminster, S.C. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters, Don, Mel, Tom, Bob, Lewis, Dot and Eleanor.

Mr. Frederick served in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953 and was with the 25th Infantry Division “Tropic Lightning” Battery A 64th Field Artillery Battalion as a corporal and 1st gunner on the 105 mm howitzer. During his service, Cpl. Frederick received the U.N. Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with four Bronze Stars and Republic of Korea Presidential Service Medal for service during the battles of the “Iron Triangle” and defending Seoul.

FREDERICK — Burial of Charles Rush Frederick Jr., who died Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, was Nov. 19 at the Grace Church Cemetery in Harmony and was attended by his brother, Dick, and many nieces, nephews and friends.Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E.
