Barbara J. Dietz, 64, of Mars, passed away Thursday at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Dietz was born on May 10, 1952, in Williamsport, Pa., the daughter of the late James and Marian Klinger Shaffer, and was raised in Coudersport, Pa.

She was the beloved wife of James T. Dietz, who she married on Oct. 17, 1981; devoted mother of Lauren (Matthew) Madia and John (Danielle) Dietz; and sister of James (Margaret) Shaffer and Thomas (Terri) Shaffer.

Barbara is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews, and many friends.

DIETZ — Family and friends of Barbara J. Dietz, who died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME OF CRANBERRY, 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania.
