Helen Irene Widmaier, 101, formerly of Shaler, died Saturday, in the Arbors at Valencia Woods, in Valencia.

Born Jan. 26, 1915, in Bethel, Vt., she was the daughter of the late Franko and Orsalina Peduzzi Ceresa.

She was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Etna, where she belonged to the Women of Emanuel Lutheran Church.

She worked various jobs throughout her lifetime.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Harry W. Widmaier, who she married May 3, 1934, and who died Jan. 6, 2002; two daughters, Lynda Hoffman and June Gmuer; one sister, Jeanett Herforth; and one brother, Lorenzo Ceresa.

Surviving are her son, Richard Widmaier of Gibsonia; nine grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
