Donald Wesley Dodds, 92, of North Liberty, Grove City, passed away at 10:35 p.m. Monday at the Orchard Manor Nursing Home. He was born Dec. 22, 1924, at Isle in Butler County, to Raymond W. Dodds and Ruth Mae Peth Dodds. He married Nettie Marie Rader on Aug. 24, 1963.

Earlier in his life, he worked at Gurney's Saw-Mill and later was self-employed working in the scrap-metal business. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing guitar.

Donald is survived by his wife, Nettie, at home; his daughter, Margie Slatinsky, and her husband, Tracy, of Grove City; two sons, Edward G. Dodds of Grove City and Scott D. Dodds and his wife, Sharon, of Mercer; his sister, Blanche English of Washington; and five grandchildren, Justin, Brighton, Amaris, Briana and Ilisa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Donald; and his brother, Earl.

DODDS — Family of Donald Wesley Dodds, who died Monday, March 20, 2017, will gather from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, with the Rev. Jerry Mahaffey, retired pastor, presiding. Interment will follow at the Slippery Rock Cemetery.
