Gladys Pearl Adamczyk
Gladys Pearl Adamczyk, 88, of Salem, Va., passed away Feb. 7.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; her older siblings; and her husband, Frank John Adamczyk.
She is survived by her brother, Ross Feil of New Castle; and her children, David Adamczyk of State College, Michael Adamczyk of Salem, Va., and Susan Miller of Navarre, Ohio.
Gladys was born May 22, 1928, in New Castle, where she was raised on the family farm. She married Frank on his return at the end of World War II from his U.S. Naval service.
She received her education from Shenango schools in New Castle, before she earned a bachelor's degree in education from Slippery Rock University.
A lifelong resident of Evans City, Gladys was a teacher and librarian in the Evans City, Seneca Valley and Cranberry Township school systems.
Gladys enjoyed her church life at Evans City Lutheran Church with her children, her membership in Business Professional Women and as a docent at the Evans City Historical Museum.
ADAMCZYK — A private family funeral service for Gladys Pearl Adamczyk, who died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, was conducted in Roanoke, Va., and her ashes were interred alongside her loving husband, Frank, in Pennsylvania.The family wishes to extend special gratitude to their mother's friends and family in the Evans City area, the Park-Oak Grove Home in Roanoke, Va., for many years of quality living and Oakey's Funeral Home in Salem, Va. for final arrangements.
