Rodney L. 'Rod' Unverzagt

Rodney L. “Rod” Unverzagt, 52, of Hilliards passed away at 9 p.m. Saturday at his home as a result of an accident while moving his motorcycle.

Rod was born on Jan. 16, 1961, in Grove City. He was the son of the late Bernie L. Unverzagt and Wanda J. Stevens Unverzagt.

He was employed by the Operating Engineers, Local 66. He loved riding his Harley, hunting and helping on the farm.

Rod is survived by his mother, Wanda Unverzagt of Hilliards; two daughters, Krystal L. Unverzagt of Butler and Madison Unverzagt of Slippery Rock; one son, Justin Unverzagt of Slippery Rock, and one grandson, Aiden Woods of Butler. One sister, Vernie Sue Hilliard of Hilliards; one brother, Sidney (Deb) Unverzagt of Knox, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.

Unverzagt — Friends of Rodney L. “Rod” Unverzagt, who passed away Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, will be received at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Private funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kathleen Soltis, retired Methodist minister, officiating.Burial will be in the North Washington Cemetery.
