Margaret Alberta Mahood

Margaret Alberta Mahood, 94, of Branchton Road, Boyers, passed away Monday at the Countryside Convalescent Home in Mercer.

She was born Dec. 13, 1922, in Cherry Township, to Ralph C. Christy and Inis Minta Kelly Christy. Margaret was employed by the Social Security Administration for over 35 years, and attended the Bell Memorial Wesleyan Methodist Church at Old Annandale.

Surviving are her husband, Harold M. Mahood, who she married May 17, 1942; her son, Howard Martin Mahood of Boyers; and her sister, Donna Lee of the Countryside Convalescent Home.

She was preceded in death by her infant son, Harold E. Mahood; her daughter-in-law, Nancy; and two brothers, Wilbur and Clair.

MAHOOD — The family of Margaret Alberta Mahood, who died Monday, May 1, 2017, will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, with the Rev. Gary Warinner, pastor of the Bell Memorial Wesleyan Methodist Church, presiding. Interment will be in Slippery Rock Cemetery.
