Cindy “Minnie” L. Vates Grill peacefully passed away on Monday.

Her son, Travis Allan, whom she adored and loved so much, along with her longtime friend, Richard M. Coll, were at her side.

She was born in the Mount Washington neighborhood of Pittsburgh and moved to Saxonburg. She was an active member of the Saxonburg Community Police.

She was preceded in death by her parents Carol Ann (Thomas) and Chester A. Vates; brothers, James and Larry Thomas; and a niece, Sherri A. Thomas.

She is survived by her brothers, Michael Thomas Vates, Scott Vates and John William Vates; sister, Lori Jones; and many nieces, nephews and family members who loved her and her bright and joy-filled laughter and smile.

Cindy was always caring and helping in any way she could.
