George E. Goetz

George E. Goetz, 73, of New Bethlehem passed away quietly Tuesday after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the Butler VA Community Living Center where he received excellent loving care by the entire staff.

George was a son of the late T.C. Goetz and Mae F. Goetz of Wexford. He is the brother of Robert C. (Marty) Goetz of Zelienople and William A. (the late Sylvia) Goetz of Jacksonville, Fla. He also is survived by two nephews and two great-nieces.

George was a Vietnam era veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a sheet metal worker and a member of Local 12.

He was always willing to help his many friends and family with their projects as he was able to do most any type of work.

He cared for both his father and mother until their passing.

GOETZ — Friends and family of George E. Goetz, who died Tuesday, June 6, 2017, will be received from 1 p.m. Tuesday until 3 p.m., the time of a blessing service, at the George A. Thoma Funeral Home, 10418 Perry Highway, Wexford.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Butler VA Health Center CLC Recreation Therapy Department, 325 New Castle Road. Butler, PA 16001, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
