NEW CASTLE — The Pennsylvania Superior Court says the juvenile court trial for a boy who was just 11 when he allegedly killed his father’s pregnant fiancee and unborn son will remain closed to the public, despite appeals by three Western Pennsylvania newspapers.

The court heard arguments last month about whether to open the trial of Jordan Brown of Wampum, who is now 14.

State law required Brown to be charged as an adult in the February 2009 killings — which caused the details of the case and Brown’s name to be reported — before his attorneys convinced a Lawrence County judge to move the case to juvenile court.
