Helen Ruth (Klingensmith) Dunkel
Helen Ruth (Klingensmith) Dunkel, 93, of Butler went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018.
She was born Aug. 27, 1924, in St. Petersburg, Pa., and was the daughter of the late Benjamin Earl and Catherine (Russell) Klingensmith.
Helen worked in Meadville at Talon as a zipper inspector after high school graduation.
She was a stay-at-home mom until her daughter went to college. She worked at A-Penn in East Butler and at Family Drug until the store closed.
She really enjoyed getting together with the girls at Family Drug for lunch.
Helen was an active member of Unionville Presbyterian Church. Until recently, she enjoyed traveling and playing with her grandchildren.
Surviving are a daughter, Doris Diana Hall of Meridian; a son, George Edward Dunkel of Butler; three grandsons, Ronald Hall and Judi of Pennsdale, Pa., John Hall and Beth of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Trevor Dunkel and Stacey of Butler; 11 great-grandchildren, John Dunkel, Zoe Walaschek, Elizabeth Hall Woodruff, Nathan Hall, Rebecca Hall Vankirk, Daniel Hall, Joshua Hall, Emma Hall, Ben Hall, Jesse Hall and Ian Hall; three great- great-grandchildren; and a niece, Shirley Barris Reeger and Earl of Meadville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Paul and Richard Klingensmith; and a sister, Grace Barris.
DUNKEL — Friends of Helen Ruth (Klingensmith) Dunkel, who died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from noon until the time of the service at 1 p.m. Thursday at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.
