It doesn't seem that long ago, the time you went away.

But I think about and miss you each and every single day.

You cared for me and raised me the best you could, that's true

And the sweetest words you said to me was simply, "I love you."

We've had our share of arguments and you dried a lot of tears.

How else could you help me through the painful growing years?

You're now with ones who loved you during sunshine, snow, and rain,

And I'll be glad to join them when I see you once again.
