John Grogan’s retirement as Mt. Lebanon’s athletic director following 25 years was short-lived.

North Catholic announce Grogan’s hire Wednesday morning as its next AD, ending a months-long search. He will replace co-ADs Jon Hoffmann and Ryan Parrish.

“(Grogan’s) experience, passion, and dedication to developing students through athletics make him an outstanding addition to the North Catholic community, and we look forward to the leadership he will bring to our athletic programs,” North Catholic said in a social media post announcing the hire.

Grogan is also the vice president of the WPIAL board of directors.

He announced his retirement from Mt. Lebo in the winter, set to take effect at the end of this school year.

His first prominent order of business will be replacing boys basketball coach Jim Rocco, who stepped down in April after five seasons.
