Ernest T. Crawford
Ernest T. Crawford, 76, of Adams Township died Thursday evening at his home after an illness.
Born in Wildwood, Pa., on July 26, 1936, he was the son of Georgia V. Lawson Crawford of Mars and the late Thomas C. Crawford.
He was a 64-year-member of the Mars United Presbyterian Church and served as deacon and elder. He also was a member of the Mars Area Rod and Gun Club, the NRA, Ducks Unlimited, the Butler County Trap Association and a life member of the Pennsylvania Gun Collectors. He was a member of the North Suburban Trap League, the Washington County Gun Collectors and the Boy Scouts of America.
He was a retired cable splicer for the North Pittsburgh Telephone Co., now Consolidated Communications, and president of its credit union.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Thomas Crawford, who he married June 22, 1963; his mother; one son, Marc Crawford and his wife, Janene, of Mentor, Ohio; one brother, Timothy Crawford and his wife, Ruth, of Mars; one sister, Judith Nancy Burke of Warrenton, Va.; and two granddaughters, Lauren and Spencer Crawford.
CRAWFORD — Friends of Ernest T. Crawford, who died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
