COLLEGE ROUNDUP

Butler High School product Jenna Geibel went a combined 5-for-7 at the plate, helping the Slippery Rock University softball team to a double-header sweep of host Clarion by scores of 2-0 and 11-2 Tuesday afternoon.

In the first game, The Rock tallied just the two runs on four hits, but that proved enough for the pitching duo of Emily Lobdell and Ashley Knight.

Lobdell (win) and Knight (save) combined to strike out five and walk one while shutting out the Golden Eagles on seven hits.

Game Two featured more offense for The Rock (15-16) as the first five batters in the team’s order went a combined 14-for-23.

Geibel, the No. 3 hitter, went 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI.

Shaylee Ianno picked up the win after fanning eight and walking two while allowing the two runs on four hits in seven innings.
