Butler County golf courses: 4 easy par-5s in the area to get a confidence boost

Not all par-5s are unbeatable monsters. Some can give a golfer an opportunity to shake off a bad bogey the hole before or build momentum with an layup of a birdie opportunity.

Conley Resort & Golf Club
The first hole at Conley Resort & Golf, seen here on Monday, April 20, 2026, is the easiest par-5 on the course according to assistant general manager Josh DeNinno. Matthew Brown/Butler Eagle

No. 1, 440 yards: You don’t have to wait long to get an easy chance at a birdie from this 440-yarder off the blue tees.

“I think it’s hole No. 1,” assistant general manager Josh DeNinno said. “Long before coming to work at Conley, I’ve enjoyed this opening hole. It’s a short par-5, and although guarded by bunkers, the green is reachable in two (strokes). Still areas where you can miss and not be too penalized. A great opening hole to score and ease your way into your round.

Hiland Golf Course
Hiland Golf Course’s No. 10, seen here Wednesday, April 15, 2026, is an easy par-5 with a straightaway drive down the fairway. Matthew Brown/Butler Eagle

No. 10: “Just to the yardage, straightaway hole,” course general manager Terry Rottman said. “The first shot’s uphill and the second shot’s downhill into the green.”

Krendale Golf Course (West and South)
Krendale Golf Course’s No. 6 West, seen here on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, is a level par-5 that gives golfers an easy chance to score. Matthew Brown/Butler Eagle

No. 6 West, 485 yards: It’s a straight fairway that includes trees on the left side.

“It has a level green,” course owner Eric Krenitsky said. “After hitting my driver, I usually go with a 3-wood, then a wedge or a 9-iron.”

Suncrest Golf & Grille
The 12th hole at Suncrest Golf and Grill considers No. 12, seen here on Monday, April 21, 2026, features a small green but a driveable fairway for an easy par-5. Matthew Brown/Butler Eagle

No. 12, 498 yards: This is one you can look for a birdie, a reachable par-5. Suncrest’s website calls the green “small and not an easy target,” but it’s a straight shot down the fairway.

“You’ve got a lot of room to work with off the tee, and even though there’s some elevation change, it’s reachable in two,” DeNinno said.
