West Virginia tosses no-no in 5-0 victory over Sliders
Sam Lewis tossed a no-hitter with seven strikeouts and three walks to lead the West Virginia Miners to a 5-0 victory over the visiting Slippery Rock Sliders Wednesday.
Matthew Chavarria had two singles and two RBIs and Will Blalock a single and RBI to pace the Miners (2-0).
Slippery Rock starter Jesse Mowen allowed five runs over five innings with one strikeout and three walks.
The Sliders (0-2) will travel to Lorain County (Ohio) today for a 7:05 p.m. contest at the Pipe Yard.
