Glacier Ridge Trail Ultramarathons is inviting runners and hikers to explore Butler County's trail system through a series of 20-plus-mile route challenges.

The organization will offer four events spanning a range of distances to accommodate varying experience levels, early-season fitness and season-long goals: a 20-mile trail run, 50K and 50-mile ultramarathons, and a five-person, 50-mile relay. The 50-mile course goes beyond single-track terrain, incorporating a section of hilly double-track and fire roads through hardwood forests, according to the Glacier Ridge Trail website.

Registration closes at the end of the day Thursday, May 7, and can be completed online at glacierridgetrailultra.com/registration. The ultramarathon events take place Saturday, May 9, starting at 225 Pleasant Valley Road, Muddy Creek Township.
