Zach Strecker scattered seven hits and allowed just one unearned run in eight innings of work as Slippery Rock defeated Richmond (Ind.) 2-1 in Prospect League baseball play Wednesday evening at Critchfield Park.

Strecker struck out five and allowed no walks before giving way to Kevin Becker-Menditto, who pitched a scoreless ninth frame to earn the save.

Matt Calhoun doubled, scored a run and drove in one while Joel Klock doubled and scored for the Sliders (8-12), who tallied both of their runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
