Cleveland-Cliffs' Goncalves named Steelmaker of Year
Lourenco Goncalves, chairman, president and CEO of Cleveland-Cliffs Inc., which owns the former AK Steel in Butler, was named Steelmaker of the Year by the Association for Iron & Steel Technology.
The award was presented Wednesday during AIST’s Iron & Steel Technology Conference and Exposition.
The association presents the award annually.
Goncalves was honored for his career achievements, leadership and contributions to the global mining and steel industries for more than 30 years; his strategic vision to transform and grow Cleveland-Cliffs; and his passionate advocacy for the success of the domestic iron and steel industry.
