BlueSox score 6-4 road victory at Richmond
The Butler BlueSox scored at least one run in every inning from the fourth through the eighth en route to a 6-4 Prospect League baseball win at Richmond (Ind.) Tuesday night.
Second baseman Ryan Fitzgerald continued his hot hitting with two hits, including a home run, and tallied two RBI.
Taylor Schmidt and Kris Cayton both added a pair of hits for Butler (15-10).
Anthony Caringi was the winning pitcher after starting the game and working 6 2/3 innings. He allowed three runs (one earned) on seven hits while striking out four and walking two.
The BlueSox used four relievers over the final 2 1/3 innings — Jordan Schwartz, Tyler Ferguson, Tyler Swarmer and Adam Tyson, who recorded the final two outs with two runners on base to earn a save.
The Slippery Rock Sliders’ home game Tuesday night against Chillicothe was postponed due to inclement weather. It will be made up today as part of a doubleheader at 1:05 p.m.
