Sliders, Richmond split pair in Indiana
The Slippery Rock Sliders settled for a split over the weekend in Richmond (Ind.), winning 6-3 on Saturday and losing 12-9 Sunday.
In Saturday’s contest, Kyle Halbohn surrendered just one earned run on six hits in six innings pitched to earn the victory.
Cooper Mickelson and Joel Klock both tallied two singles in the win while Ryne Clark scored twice and Mike Andries drove in two runs.
Pitching was not in favor of the Sliders (16-20) in Sunday’s game as starter Tyler Wilson gave up six earned runs in four innings of work.
The RiverRats (14-22) scored four runs in the fourth inning and four more in the fifth off reliever Jake Eikleberry.
A bright spot for Slippery Rock, shortstop Tom Crimi went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two more batted in.
