George Robert Walter Jr.
George Robert Walter Jr., 57, of Butler passed away Jan. 29 due to a house fire.
He was born Nov. 11, 1960, in Butler, and was the son of the late George Robert Sr. and Betty (Huselton) Walter.
George graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1978 and in that same year started working at St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars. There is where he met and fell in love with his wife, Linda, and they were married April 3, 1981.
He enjoyed collecting rocks and gems, playing video games, antiquing and flea marketing with his wife. He loved spending time with their dogs and entertaining nieces and nephews with overnight and weekend excursions.
Surviving are five sisters, Susan (Richard) Jefferson of Portersville, Lorraine (Randy) Plair of Jacksonville, Fla., Jessie (Brian) Ray of Butler, Teresa (Jon) Wathen of Rome, Maine, and Patricia (Jeffrey) Freilich of Fairfax, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
He and his wife, Linda (Moore) Walter, passed away on the same day, Jan. 29, 2018.
WALTER — A memorial service for Linda and George Walter, who both died Monday, Jan. 29, 2018, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Young Funeral Home, 127 W.
