Passavant Community members staging resident-written murder mystery
“Deception and Murder at Rosebud” — a murder mystery production that is written, produced and performed by members of the Passavant Community in Zelienople — offers both dinner and a show.
Performances will take place Saturday and Sunday, May 1 and 2, in dinner theater-style showings.
The play was written by resident Mark Richner, who drew inspiration from America’s upcoming 250th anniversary. What begins as a historical celebration becomes a story of theft, chaos and murder, complete with an unexpected FBI investigation, said a news release from Passavant.
“I thought, wouldn’t it be kind of interesting,” Richner said. “There was a theft, and there was a murder — and that’s how the play kind of came together.”
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Passavant Community Auxiliary Fund, supporting programs and initiatives that enhance resident life.
