Victor "Gene" Sybert, 76, of West Sunbury, formerly of Slippery Rock, died 10:57 p.m. Friday in Concordia Home after an short illness.

Born Sept. 20, 1931, in Butler, he was the son of Reno G. and Georgia Kline Sybert.

He had worked at Pullman Standard and at Furniture Galleries for years

He bought a service station in 1984 called Sybert's Gas and Service Station in West Sunbury, which he and a son operated.

He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and NASCAR racing.

He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Vicki McFeaters of West Sunbury, P. Lynne Sybert of Naples, Fla., Mrs. Ray (Lori) Stephenson of Grove City and Janet Sybert of Karns City; two sons, Kenneth "Sunshine" Sybert and Jason Sybert, both of Slippery Rock; 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary McCormick of Cabot and Georgia Kay Rusterholtz of Butler

He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Mae Deemer Sybert, who died Jan 7, 1995; a son, Carl, who died in motorcycle accident on Sept. 19, 1979; three brothers, and two sisters.

<B>SYBERT</B> — Visitation for Victor "Gene" Sybert, who died Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the <B>William F. Young Funeral Home</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury, with private services to follow. Burial will be in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
