BlueSox bats remain quiet in 3-1 setback at Chillicothe
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The struggles of the Butler offense continue.
The BlueSox (4-3) managed just seven hits in a 3-1 loss to Chillicothe in Prospect League action Tuesday night.
Butler scored its only run in the first inning on a sacrifice fly by Anthony Smith that scored Forrest Perron, who went 3-for-4 with a double and a triple.
The BlueSox scored only one run in the two-game sweep for the Paints.
Chillicothe scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning against Butler reliever Tyler Ferguson and tacked on another run in the fifth off of Ferguson, who picked up the loss.
The BlueSox stranded seven runners on base and struck out 12 times in the loss.
Butler will be back home at Kelly Automotive Park against Lorain tonight. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
