BlueSox defeated in Illinois
Butler’s offense was held in check in a 5-2 Prospect League baseball defeat Tuesday evening in Danville (Ill.).
The BlueSox (11-7) did collect nine hits, but did not score until plating a pair of runs in the top of the eighth inning. The Dans had taken a 5-0 lead by the end of the sixth frame.
Stuart Levy and Russell Clark both had two hits for Butler while Cody Herald doubled, scored a run and drove in a run.
The defeat fell to starting pitcher Mitch Patishall, who gave up three runs on six hits in 4 2/3 innings. He struck out three and walked three.
Tanner Schumacher, Jordan Pannell and Alex Martin each logged a relief appearance for Butler, which plays at Terre Haute tonight.
