Pat Byrd struck out six in a route-going effort as Center Township defeated Valley, 6-1, in legion baseball play Thursday.

Byrd allowed four hits and collected a single and two RBI himself. Nick Delano had a double and three RBI while Chris Fiorina had a double and two runs scored, Adam Voelker a single and three stolen bases.

Abe Kabazie had a double and single for Valley.

Meridian 8, Center Township 2 — T.J. Rice struck out eight and scattered five hits in a complete-game effort for Meridian Tuesday.

Jake Campbell tripled, singled and scored two runs for Meridian while Brandon Spinneweber contributed a double, single and two RBI, Nick Malis a single and two runs scored. Rice had a double and RBI.

Voelker and Fiorina both had a single and RBI for Center Township.
