Authority to host employee luncheon

After canceling its staff appreciation luncheon in 2020, the Butler Transit Authority will have one again this October.

The board of directors voted in its Tuesday meeting to plan an employee appreciation luncheon, which would be for staff members, board members and their spouses.

The luncheon will either be Oct. 3 or Oct. 29, and the board will start the process of searching for a venue.

The board also updated the authority's procurement policy, so any state purchases of more than $11,000 must have a cost analysis performed, as will any federal purchases of more than $250,000.

According to the transit authority's solicitor, the previous threshold for performing a cost analysis on state purchases was $10,000.

The solicitor also said the organization's procurement policy is fluid, so these changes can be made in line with state or federal updates.
