The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture has provided this report on the Oct. 1 Eighty Four Livestock Auction. The Oct. 1 New Wilmington and the Oct. 2 Mercer sales were not reported.

CATTLE 461 — (Supply included 339 feeders. Compared with last week's sale, slaughter cows were mostly 1. lower with breakers trading steady to firm.)

Steers — Select 1-2, one, 70.

Heifers — Select 1-2, one, 77.50; standard 1-2, few, 63.-69.

Cows — Breakers, 75-80 percent lean, 54.-61.50; boners, 80-85 percent lean, 47.-52.50; lean, 85-90 percent lean, 39.-46. Shells 38.50 and down.

Bulls — Yield grade 1, 1,505-2,150 lbs., 55.50-61.; yield grade 2, one, 1735 lbs., 54.

Feeder cattle — Steers — Two, medium 1, 385 and 515 lbs., 98. and 115.; large 1, 445-660 lbs., 91.-105.; medium 2, 290-485 lbs., 90.-110.; 585-670 lbs., 76.-79.; one, large 3, 455 lbs., 67.
