Nick Comport singled home Ryan Wotus with the eventual winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning as the Mars Sliders edged Zelienople 3-2 in Eagle County League baseball play Friday in Adams Township.

Caulen Hershman was awarded the pitching win after allowing just the two runs on five hits while striking out nine and walking four in a complete game.

Noah Gasparin contributed two singles and a run scored for Mars (4-9), while Dylan Stewart singled and scored once.

Saxonburg 5, Pine-Richland 2 — Tim Devine worked seven strong innings and also drove in a run as Saxonburg downed Pine-Richland.

Franzee Barlamas paced Saxonburg (10-5) at the plate with a double, two singles and a pair of RBI.

Matt Yough also had a RBI-single for Saxonburg.
