Our lives were not like ships being tossed helplessly upon the rough seas of life.

Jesus was the Lord over every circumstance we faced.

He used each difficulty and trial to workout His purposes in our lives — to show us His power, to strengthen our faith, to purify our hearts, to deepen our joy.

In His perfect time He spoke His word over our rough seas, and all was calm again.

The Lord was in control of all that we faced, and He kept us steady through the storms of life.

His sure and certain word calms my heart today.
