In loving memory of our father and grandfather, George "Red" Slater, who passed away one year ago today.
Time may help to ease the bitter pain
Of the loss of one held dear;
But only few know how we miss him,
And the loneliness of this year.
We try to be brave and remember
He is now free of pain;
And at the road's end, God willing,
We, too, shall meet again.
