George A. Slupe

In loving memory of George A. Slupe, November 30, 1996 - October 16, 2010

It is so hard for us to believe that a year has passed since you left us that October day.

There are so many things that we miss about you in every way.

We miss your smile and laughter as all of the family gathers at home. It fills our hearts with sadness to not have you here.

We often talk of all the great times and still shed many tears.

We still feel so lost without you and it aches within the heart,

Your memories surround us because in our lives you were such an important part.

You were a hero to our family! Such a great, strong man, to endure what you did.

We know that there were times that you had to have felt weak, but it must have been something you hid.

You worked so hard all of your life and gave so much of yourself to others every day.

We still ache for you to be here to share in all of our lives or to hug and hold us to make everything okay.

We cry when we think of how much you loved life and how you fought for years to stay.

We are so grateful that we all surrounded you before the angels carried you away.

Our memories only grow more vivid as we talk about you every day.

I will never forget the look in your eyes when it neared the time to part. You were still so strong and courageous and you asked us not to cry. The thoughts of this make me weep to my knees because Dad, we didn’t want to say good-bye.

You told us all that you loved us and that home was where you wanted to go.

Dad, you are truly home. You are walking with God and watching over all of us just as if you were here. This is something we know.
