In loving memory of Carol Mercatell Chestnut who passed away one year ago today, December 17, 2011.

She fought the battle for 10 long years of the beast that grew inside.

But God decided she fought enough and took her to his side.

The eldest of 8, God sent her first, so she could lead the way.

She lived a life of compassion and kindness each and every day.

She taught us how to face life’s battles, even when life’s not fair.

She was courageous, determined and didn’t give up til God took her in his care.
