Mars man charged with holding knife to woman’s throat

A Mars man was arrested Sunday, April 19, by Adams Township Police after they said he held a knife to a woman’s throat and threatened her.

Zachary Thomas Conner, 22, is charged with aggravated assault and making terroristic threats.

According to a police affidavit, Conner became upset and started calling the woman names after she said they could not stop at Sheetz while driving down Route 228. When she pulled the vehicle over and asked him to get out, he refused, but calmed down.

According to the affidavit, when the woman pulled into a residence, Conner pulled out a pocket knife and held it to her throat, saying “you’re about to feel this,” before getting out of the car.

When police arrived, the woman said Conner was inside the residence and intoxicated, the affidavit said.

Conner faces two charges of felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor charges of recklessly endangering another person and terroristic threats. He is being held at the county jail in lieu of $75,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. April 29, before District Judge Amy Marcinkiewicz.
