The first presenter in the Spring 2026 Speaker Series at the Grove City Area Historical Society is Jim Carnes, who will share the story behind his great-great grandfather’s headstone at Andersonville National Cemetery.

Carnes’ presentation will take place at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, at 111 College Ave. Grove City. His great-great grandfather, whom he is named after, died at the Civil War prison. Carnes will share details about the infamous Confederate prison in Andersonville, Georgia.
