Schulz

Margaret "Peg" Schulz, 85, of Zelienople went to be with the Lord on Tuesday.

Born Nov. 19, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Lela (Starkey) Sheatsley.

She is survived by her son, Martin Schulz of El Paso, Texas; her daughter, Christine Schulz of Grafton, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Selena Sheets (Cory) and Capt. Shawn Schulz (Olivia); and four great-grandchildren, Cory, Cody and Casey Sheets and Anthony Schulz.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Leonard J. Schulz, and her sister, Ruth Sheatsley Neikirk.

Peg grew up in Louisville, Ohio, and earned her bachelor's at Capital University, Columbus, Ohio, where she met her future husband.

After two years of nurses training at Western Reserve University in Cleveland, she married Len, and they left to serve as missionaries of the former American Lutheran Church in South India from 1947 to 1959. Her husband then became pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Chicora. In 1962 they returned to India for another 5-year term. Upon returning to the United States, Len became pastor of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Avalon for 17 years.

After retirement in 1986, they continued to live in the North Hills until they moved in 1999 to the Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople.

Wherever Peg went she always found plenty of avenues of service and great pleasure in life.

Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Friends also will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Seaman Memorial Chapel, Passavant Retirement Community, 401 S. Main St., Zelienople, where funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday.
