HARRISVILLE – Home is where the heart is and you've got to put your heart into your home.

Navy PO3 Justin Hendrickson and his wife, Jennie, did just that Saturday when they got the key to their brand new, four-bedroom, two-bathroom house along Creek Bottom Road.

The house was built through Homes for Our Troops, a national non-profit organization that provides adapted houses to wounded veterans. Justin, who lost part of his right leg while serving in Iraq, uses both a prosthetic and a wheelchair. He has trouble accessing rooms with carpet, stairs or narrow doorways.

“I'm in shock right now,” Justin said Saturday during a welcoming ceremony at the couple's new home.

A formal entourage escorted the Hendricksons from Grove City Outlets to their new home, which they begin moving into this week. Dignitaries, donors and families offered words of encouragement to the Hendricksons before they cut the ribbon across their front door.

“(My) mind is blown,” Jennie said as they couple toured their new home for the first time.

“(This) makes life completely enjoyable,” Justin said. “Thank you, Homes for Our Troops.”
