Man charged with sending threatening emails to Meridian treatment center
A Elysburg man is accused of sending threatening emails to a representative of a Meridian addiction treatment center.
Jason B. Matukaitis, 46, was charged Tuesday, April 7, by Butler Township police with one misdemeanor count each of terroristic threats and harassment following a March 16 report.
The report came from a representative of Davis Archway Treatment Center, where Matukaitis had been a patient in 2024, police said. The man told police he’d been receiving emails to his work and personal accounts from Matukaitus threatening him and his wife.
The emails were sent between Sept. 20 and March 25. Police said Matukaitus was asked to stop the emails multiple times and did not.
Matukaitis has an address in Butler, but police were unable to contact him there.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. May 21 before District Judge Kevin O’Donnell.
