The Butler Transit Authority Board on Tuesday:• Elected Jim Diamond chairman• Elected Barbara Billek vice chairwoman• Re-elected Joe Hasychak secretary• Held its first meeting on the third floor of Cornerstone Commons, 201 S. Main St., since moving its offices there from the City Building. Hasychak complained about paying the $50 monthly rent for the meeting room with space available free in either the city or Butler Township's municipal buildings.

The Butler County Community College board of directorsWednesday:• Gave the BC3 Education Foundation the authority to begin preparations to launch a major capital campaign.• Approved submitting requests for proposals for architectural, bond counsel and investment banking services related to the new student services building.• Approved notifying the Butler Area Sewer Authority that it will need additional sewer capacity for the new student service building.
