City purchases traffic signal upgrade

Butler city officials agreed to pay $8,906 for a traffic signal head upgrade after running into a maintenance issue with the current signal.

City council voted unanimously at a forum meeting Thursday, April 9, to approve a proposal from ArchKey Solutions for the upgrade of the Center Avenue, South Monroe Street and Lincoln Avenue traffic signal.

Zoning officer John Evans said the work will be completed as soon as possible.

“It’s a maintenance issue. It has put the lights out of operation, and it’s something that needs to be addressed immediately,” Evans explained to council.
