Slippery Rock University student earns Chick-fil-A scholarship
Chick-fil-A is awarding a $25,000 scholarship to a Slippery Rock University student through its Community Scholars program, which recognizes students not affiliated with Chick-fil-A for their impact beyond the classroom.
Madelyn Sheffel is a student at Slippery Rock University pursuing dual degrees in Mathematics Education and Dance Performance through the honors college. Her goal is to inspire students across STEM and the arts, said a news release from Chick-fil-A.
Sheffel is involved in community service initiatives, including cancer prevention outreach, the news release said.
Chick-fil-A selected 13 people nationwide for $25,000 awards. Recipients were surprised with the news of their scholarship in person by Chick-fil-A CEO Andrew T. Cathy at Chick-fil-A’s Main Campus in Atlanta.
