A Butler man is charged with aggravated assault after police said he threatened a woman and her children with a metal object.

Dana Dale Robinson, 55, was charged Saturday, April 4, by Butler police with felony aggravated assault and one misdemeanor count each of reckless endangerment and terroristic threats following an incident Saturday.

Police said they were dispatched to Eau Claire Street for a man armed with a metal pipe making threats. Police found the man wielding a shovel. Police said he had also dropped a glass smoking pipe with a Chore Boy.

The caller told police Robinson ran in front of the woman’s vehicle, swung the metal object at her and said, “I’m going to kill you.” The caller had children in the vehicle with her.

Police said Robinson also fought with an unknown man, but the man ran off.

Robinson is being held in Butler County Prison on $15,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:45 a.m. April 20 before District Judge William Fullerton.
