Winfield Township meat distributor accused of assaulting woman
A Winfield Township meat distributor is accused of assaulting a woman after an argument in charges filed Monday, April 6.
Daniel Keith McKruit, 66, of McKruit’s Meats, was charged by state police with misdemeanor simple assault following an incident Monday.
Police said they responded to McKruit’s Meats for reports of an assault. A woman told police she went there to discuss an improper check amount.
Police said an argument ensued over the correct check amount, and the woman attempted to take the check and leave. Police said McKruit then grabbed her arm, attempted to take the check from her hand, grabbed her hair and pushed her to the ground.
Police said the woman had soreness to her neck and shoulder area after the alleged incident.
McKruit’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:45 p.m. April 21 before District Judge Jack Ripper.
Attempts to reach McKruit were unsuccessful.
