County, PennDOT requesting fill dump sites
The state Department of Transportation is looking for property owners interested in housing fill dump sites from upcoming shoulder grading and ditch cleaning operations.
Shoulder grading removes excess soil and debris from unpaved shoulder areas to improve drainage and water flow, according to PennDOT.
Property owners interested in housing fill dump sites should contact the Butler County PennDOT office at 724-284-8800 for a release form. Authorization must be approved annually and renewed each year.
The shoulder grading will begin in late April in the southeast quadrant of the county as part of the four-year sectional maintenance plan cycle.
Ditch cleaning will occur year-round as weather permits along various routes around the county.
PennDOT maintains 352 miles of roads in the county.
