BC3 fills new workforce chief position
BUTLER TWP — Butler County Community College chose one of its own for the new position of executive director of workforce development.
Stephen Catt had been an administrator for 23 years before being named to this position. The position brings together business and industry, occupational safety, public safety, fire and certified training programs into one department.
He also was an adjunct professor for the master's program of Organizational Development at Geneva College and consultant and trainer at numerous Butler County businesses.
He has been involved in extensive government relations activities and has acquired more than $8 million in grants to start new programs such as computer forensics, robotics technology, evacuation crisis training and teaching advanced manufacturing through guitar making.
Catt is a 1975 alumnus of BC3 and transferred to Michigan State University to receive a bachelor's in education. He earned a master's degree in human resource management from La Roche College and a doctorate in higher education administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
