Slippery Rock Area High School will stage “Anastasia: The Musical” April 10 to 12, at the high school, 201 Kiester Road, Slippery Rock.

“Her past is a mystery. Her future is an adventure. ‘Anastasia: The Musical’ is about discovering who you are and defining who you’re meant to be,” said a synopsis from Slippery Rock Area High School.

From Tony winners Terrence McNally, Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens — creators of Broadway classics including “Ragtime” and “Once On This Island” — the show “transports its audience from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of Paris in the 1920s, as a brave young woman sets out to discover the mystery of her past. Pursued by a ruthless Soviet officer determined to silence her, Anya enlists the aid of a dashing con man and a lovable ex-aristocrat. Together, they embark on an epic adventure to help her find home, love and family.”

The show runs at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 10 and 11, and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 12. Tickets are on sale online at cur8.com/16150/project/137586. The school recommends purchasing tickets in advance because shows are expected to sell out.
