Woman, 65, dies in weekend crash on I-80 in Mercer County
A 65-year-old woman died and four others were injured in a Saturday, March 28, crash involving a U-Haul trailer on I-80 in Mercer County.
Lourdes M. Jimenez, a passenger in the vehicle that had the trailer attached, died after being partially ejected when the vehicle rolled onto its passenger side.
State police said the driver lost control after driving on an overpass amid icy conditions around 6:30 a.m. and jackknifed. It then left the road and rolled over.
All injured passengers were not wearing seatbelts, police said.
Carlos Rosa, 62, was flown to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngtown, Ohio, with suspected serious injuries. A 14-year-old passenger and two other unspecified passengers were taken to AHN Grove City with suspected minor injuries.
Four additional passengers were not injured.
