Robert R. Lewis

Robert R. Lewis, 96, of Sarver passed away Friday at the Good Samaritan Hospice.

Born March 31, 1920, in Cabot, he was the son of the late Robert L. and Wilda (Hesselgesser) Lewis.

Robert was a staff sergeant in the United States Army during World War II. He served in the infantry in France and spent 24 months in the Philippines. He worked for Penn Dixie as the chief chemist for 43 years. He was a member of the Cabot United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post 683. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. He enjoyed gardening and outside chores and loved spending time with his family.

Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Wilma (Stout) Lewis; daughters, Barbara (Jerry) Patterson of Louisiana, Kim (Larry) Micohn of Oregon and Marcy (Tom) Canel of Saxonburg, 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
